When yousend your clothing to the laundry, there must be a methodto identify it. If your clothing is lost or misplaced, theonly way it can be recovered is if it has been properlymarked.TRANSFER OF CLOTHINGNo transfer or exchange of an enlisted person’suniform clothing will be made without the commandingofficer’s authorization. When such transfers orexchanges are authorized or when clothing belonging todeserters is sold, obliterate (make the nameunreadable) the former owner’s name with a red “D.C.”stamp. The purchaser’s name will be placed above,below, or next to it.SEABAGSThe CO requires clothing of all nonrated personnelto be inspected at regular intervals to make sure thateach person has the required seabag items (table 10-3and table 10-4). Also, before a nonrated person istransferred to another ship or station, another seabaginspection is made. Petty officers clothing may beinspected on an individual basis, as appropriate.
