A consecutive number isadded to an SSIC following a period (.) to indicate theconsecutive number of directives issued by a givenissuing authority that fall under the same SSIC. Forexample, the SSIC 5510 with a consecutive number of.1(5510.1) indicates this instruction is the first dispersedby the issuing command. Instructions numbered 5510.2and 5510.3 would indicate they are the second and thirdinstructions issued under the same SSIC.REVISION INDICATION. -When a directive hasbeen revised, it is assigned an alphabetical suffixfollowing the consecutive number; for exampIe,5510.2C. In this case the C indicates the third revisionto the directive; A would be the first revision, B thesecond, D the fourth, and so on. The letters I and O arenot used as alphabetical suffixes.8-540009000
